Even if you don't like golf, you have to appreciate the effort put in by 53 year old Greg Norman this past weekend at the British Open. In the face of possibly the worst conditions ever at a major event and the fact that he had such a long layoff between tournaments, Greg Norman came within 9 holes of becoming the oldest gentleman to win a major golfing championship. Although there was no fairytale ending for Norman, there was for Padraig Harrington. The classy Irishman became the 5th repeat winner of the Open in the last 50 years. A hardy Eiren Go Bragh for my favorite on the PGA Tour (Save for my fellow Canuck, Mike Weir, of course). Even though your Uncle Kegger is the tender age of 31, I incorporate elements of the 'old man swing' into my own golf stroke. I get the expected hard time from by golfing buddies, but I see nothing but positives in my golf swing. By the time we are all old men, I'll have my swing down to a science, and they'll just be figuring their's out. Watching old man Norman this weekend tells me that my game will be just fine.
